Back to the mainland...

Just returned from a week in Hawaii - technically week two of the 2006 PGA season as the Mercedes was last week.

Missed the cut and didn't shoot as well as I hoped at the Sony Open - but it's only the first week of the Tour. Lots of golf left to be played. In San Diego today to work on some things with my long-time coach Mike Owen.

Tonight, my good friend Ali is having the grand re-opening of his club 4th&B in San Diego's Gaslamp District. Should be a great night as he's put a lot into renovating the place. Might have to break the workout regime with a late night carne asada burrito. I love Mexican food. Filiberto's is life. Open 24/7.

I'm headed out to Palm Desert in the morning to start gearing up for the Bob Hope Chrysler Classic. I've always been a fan of the Bob Hope. It's a fun tournament and being that I grew up near Palm Desert and live in Scottsdale now, I'm pretty used to the course, grass, weather and everything else.

In 2003, I set the course record at the Bob Hope with an 11-under-par 61 in the third round. Got pretty close to that 59, but I can definitely live with the 61. Tied for 6th that year and hoping for a similar showing this week.

Will write more from the Desert.

Carne asada is life. I always order the biggest burrito I can get my hands around and then throw three rolled on the site. A must.
