Opening round 76 at Torrey Pines (SC)...
Double P shot 76 on the South Course at Torrey Pines today in the opening round of this year' Buick Invitational. Holes 6, 7 and 16 were the difference-maker in what looked to be a solid opening round on an extremely difficult course.Anyone doubting that, look no further than today's leaderboard where 55 of top-58 all did their damage on the North Course.
Tomorrow's tee time is set for 10:10am PT and Perez goes off on #10 North.

Good luck to you this season Double P. You and Daly are going to be in the winner's circle soon. Can we get an update on what clubs you're using? Thought I saw a futura in your bag.
I played in the Buick Pro-Am with PP. Great time! Met his mom, too. Nice lady! And I'll never forget the golf and life lesson Pat taught me. We're on the par 5, 9th (we started on the back so it was our 18th). I was one under going into the hole - I was pumped. The hole before - a par 3 - Double P put it 18 inches and I put it 17 - made the putt! So back to the 9th. He says "Hey you're playing good let's have a little bet - I'll give you two strokes but I get a toss."
I ask, "What’s a toss?" He says, “If I need help I get a free toss wherever I want – but you get two strokes." "Sure," I say. We hit our drives and PP says he's taking his toss. He goes over to my ball and throws it out of bounds. "You lie three." Such a sucka! I'm a Yankee fan and the bet was if I lost I'd have to wear a BoSox cap. Well I got the shot. DP - just tell me where to the send it. DP kick butt out there.
