-1 and hanging tough at Bay Hill...

ORLANDO, FL - Pat Perez had a rough go of it today at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, but he kept scrapping right down to the final hole.

Starting on #10, Double P nailed three straight pars before his first birdie of the day on #13. Right when it seemed the kid had some momentum, the round took a bizarre turn. On #15, a par 3, PP's errant tee shot wound up in a tree and never came back down. Forced to take the two-stroke penalty, he got on the green and two-putted for double bogey. A bogey on #16 had him +2 on the day hitting the turn.

There was reason for excitement on #3 when Double P birdied the par 4. After hitting his tee shot into the middle of the fairway, he put his second shot on the green and left himself a six foot birdie putt, which he drained. After back-to-back bogeys on #3 and #4, PP birdied #6, a par 5. After his 255-yard tee shot, PP flew the green with his second shot and hit out of the primary rough on his third, leaving him a one and a half foot put for birdie.

Sitting at +3 on the day after a bogey on #8, PP faced Bay Hill's third hardest hole #9, a par 4. A six foot putt left him his final birdie opp of the day, which he dropped to finish at +2 for Friday and -1 on the tourney entering Saturday.

Tune in tomorrow to see if PP can have a monster round to get back in the mix for Sunday.
