-1 at Travelers after scoring one for the kids...

PP here. Checking in from the glorious Cromwell, CT this Thursday evening. Things have been hectic lately, so I haven't had time to write. Figured it was time to sit down and blog away. Here goes.

I headed out to Nemacolin on Sunday night to gear up for the Mystic Rock Celebrity Pro Am. Some great people involved with that event, so even though it was out of the way, I didn't want to turn down an opportunity to help out. All the money goes towards local non-profit organizations and school scholarship funds. Like Gheorghe Muresan in the old Snickers commercial, it's all about scoring one for the kids.

I played with my bud Jason Gore and after starting out -7 after 7 holes, I ended up shooting a 63. After the conditions at the US Open last week, this event was like a damn chip and putt. Fun times.

I snagged lunch and caught a flight from there to Jersey so I could help out bud Joe Pesci with his charity event. Another chance to score one for the kids. This time around the charity was St. Barnabus. My girl and I grabbed dinner with Pesci and Angie Everhart and the next day played a 12 hole skins game. I was paired up with Joe, Chi Chi Rodriguez and Michael Bolton. All great guys, though it was killing me to not bring up and "Office Space" references in front of MB. I'm sure he's more than sick of talking about that movie.

After the event, we said our goodbyes and trekked over to Cromwell. I got in nine holes bright and early on Wednesday morning and had the 8:03am ET tee time today, so it was up at 5:45am again and off to the course. Wish I went a little lower than 69 but definitely happy with the way I played to day. Looking forward to getting back out there tomorrow.

I'm off next week but I have a British Open qualifier coming up in the coming weeks as well as Tommy Thayer's charity event at the end of July. Playing a handful of events between here and there and then back in San Diego the first week of August so I can check out The Cult when they play at the Del Mar Track. I've missed those guys a half dozen times since 2001 and that streak ends this year.

Look for me out there on the 4th. I'll be the guy front row in a sleeping bag with two days stubble going and a bag of Filiberto's next to him. Really hoping to meet those guys as well. All the people I've come across, I've never met Ian and Billy. I need to let 'em know than when I get that first win, they're playing the victory party.

Gotta run. I'll log on again soon. Check the photos from Pesci's deal. - Double P
