71-64-68-65 equals T8th at Valero
Pat Perez started the day T19th, but after an early afternoon tear, found himself in the lead. After opening with birdies on #1 and #3, Perez cruised through the rest of the front nine and hit the turn, -1. A birdie, eagle, birdie, par, birdie run moved PP to -6 on the day and in the hunt, though those a top the leaderboard with later tee times still had ground to make up.
A missed birdie opp on #15 and bogey on #17 had Perez at -5 on the day and made for a final round 65. Perez wound up -12 on the event and T8th.
Back-to-back top ten finishes helped Perez jump to #49 on the money list, a few steps closer to achieving the goal of top thirty and exemption to next year's majors.
