T4th finish at Arnold Palmer Invitational

Consistency was key at Bay Hill and Pat Perez remained even keel all week in Orlando. While many other scorecards were all over the map, Perez remained right where he needed to be all week.

An opening round of 70 on Thursday, followed by a 70 on Friday and another on Saturday was good enough for T6th entering the final round. The six-shot deficit wasn't insurmountable, but it'd be no easy feat.

Two bogeys after four wasn't how you'd draw up the opening of the final round, but Perez remained even-keel and followed the rough start with back-to-back birdies; a rarity this Sunday. Two more came on #11 and #12, putting Perez at -2 on the day and two strokes off the lead.

A bogey on #14 was followed by another birdie on #15, this time a fourteen-footer to boost the confidence. Two good looks on #16 and #17 resulted in pars, while a great bogey save on #18 was difference between T8th or T11th.

The result, a $236,250 pay day and 108.75 FedExCup points... not to mention a slew of confidence heading into the Masters after an off week. The T4th place finish moved Perez to 7th in FedExCup standings, 48th in the World Golf Rankings (from 58th) and kept him at 10th in PGA Tour Money Leaders.

Next up, another off week to physically and mentally prepare for this season's first major. Perez will head to Augusta on Saturday to get in some extra practice and PatPerezGolf.com will bring you all the action next week.
