Pat McGee Band: All in for the PPG Charity Tourney!

Double P and crew got to hang with the boys from the Pat McGee Band last night at the Belly Up in Solana Beach, CA. Pat McGee and percussionist Chardy McEwan were opening for Shawn Mullins and the Gin Blossoms.

PP and the fellas went to check out the show and talk with P-McGee about playing in the P-Perez charity golf tourney late January 2007. Team Perez helped synch Team McGee up with the John Daly charity tourney and they're now hooked on this fun game called golf.

Plans are stll being set, but it appears the Pat McGee Band will play 4th&B on Sunday evening (January 28th) and will participate in Double P's charity tourney on Monday the 29th.

Much more to come over the coming weeks. Please check back.

On a somber note, Pat and Chardy headed back to Virginia this morning to deal with funeral arrangement for their drummer, Chris Williams. Chris died in his sleep early Sunday morning and will be laid to rest this week. Please keep his family as well as his Pat McGee Band family in your thoughts and prayers this week.

For those wanting to know where Memorial Contributions could be made, the Pat McGee Band has selected the www.progeriaresearch.org and click on WAYS TO DONATE.

Maiden Irvine!

Double P and the boys trekked up to Irvine, CA last Saturday to catch Iron Maiden in support of the new CD, "A Matter of Life and Death".

Fans of Maiden need to make a point of scooping up this new disc. Bar none their best work since 1988's "Seventh Son of a Seventh Son".

On behalf of the Double P Crew, a hearty thanks to drummer Nicko McBrain. Nicko took care of the fellas with t-shirts, drumsticks, backstage passes, signed photos and killer seats for the sold out show at Irvine Meadows (16,000+). He even blogged about his day with Double P and crew on the Iron Maiden Blog.

You have to be a paid member to check out the whole thing (which we are), but we saved this one and made it live since it talks about Double P and the boys. Hope you don't mind, Nicko! Check out the diary entry by clicking here.

Below are some pics from the evening. Scream for me, Irvine... SCREAM FOR ME, IRVINE!

Cheers.
