Perez a Fry's sleeper according to PGATour.com

PGATour.com's T.J. Auclair chose Pat Perez as his 'sleeper' for this week's Fry's Electronics Open at Grayhawk.

"With five top-10 finishes this year, I believe this is the week Perez breaks through for his first PGA TOUR win. There would be no better place for that maiden win either. Perez is an Arizona State alum who will have the luxury of sleeping in his own bed this week with a short drive down the road to the course. It would make a good year great."

Let's hope you're right, T.J.

Practice round photos from Vegas...

Here are some shots from last week's practice round at Summerlin. Double P played his practice round with Tour pros Tommy Armour III and Robert Gamez.

After the boys took in 18, PP hijacked the crew and took them to Roberto's - a dive Mexican taco shop headquartered in San Diego, CA. A zillion and one classy joints to eat at in Sin City and the kid prefers a taco shop at a gas station. If that ain't "keeping it real" I don't know what is.

On a roll in Sin City...

After posting an opening round 71 at Summerlin, Pat Perez knew he had to get on his horse Friday and make things happen if he was going to make the cut at this week's Frys.com Open in Las Vegas.

Playing this event as a tune up for next week's Frys event at Grayhawk - in PP's backyard (literally) - Perez started this week in need of a four day run to get him geared up for Scottsdale.

Friday proved to be that flawless round to get the streak started, shooting a 66 - bogey-free and boasting six birdies.

Saturday's tee time is 8:35am PT and Double P begins the weekend T32 and six strokes off the lead. Still, this is the desert and this is the type of event where a lot of ground can be made up in the span of 18 holes. Just look at today's turnaround after only going one-under on Thursday.

Tune in this weekend for more. Full coverage all weekend on The Golf Channel as well as XM 146.
