Expert picks: Frys.com Open

Mike McAllister of PGATour.com used his 'expert pick' this week and gave Pat Perez the nod regarding winning this year's Frys.com Open. McAllister wrote:

"Since winning in January, Perez has just one top-10 finish. And in his last 12 starts, he's missed five cuts. So why do I like him here? Because he's finished top-10 in his two previous starts at Grayhawk and is a collective 21 under in those eight rounds."

Tee times are set. Tune in Thursday for the latest. PP goes off at 7:27am round one and 11:52am for round two.

Perez at No. 3 in Fry's.com Open Power Rankings

After a month off, Pat Perez is back in action this week at the Fry's.com Open at Grayhawk. With Grayhawk listed as Perez's home course, the folks at PGATour.com figure PP should move up in this week's Power Rankings.

Regarding the No. 3 rank, PGATour.com's Ryan Smithson said the following:

"We saw it last week: When in doubt, go with guys who know the course, and Perez, an Arizona State alum, knows it well. He tied for seventh last year, and more importantly, he has been idle for five weeks, so he should be raring to go."

Tune in this week to see if Perez can make a run on his home course before a season-ending trek to China late November.
